Fette Sau, Brooklyn, Review

Fette Sau, 354 Metropolitan Avenue, Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY 11211
Fette Sau is a real American smokehouse gem, located in an achingly cool Williamsburg former auto-repair shop, just the right side of rough. It offers a frequently changing menu of organic/ethically sourced prime barbecue meats, an impressive selection of draft beers and an unbeatable whisky list. Fette Sau is man-heaven! It does not take reservations, and all seating is communal on picnic tables, encouraging a social, spontaneous atmosphere, so show up early.
Fette Sau is everything A:Gent expects from a BBQ restaurant in Williamsburg: seriously cool, with high quality food, interesting clientele and a geek-worthy whisky offering.

It's obviously all about the food, not the coolness of the decor, or the buzzy excitement of a place, and thankfully Fette Sau does not disappoint. We ordered a selection of meats; a spicy pork sausage, beef brisket, baby back ribs and St.Louis style ribs; all interestingly presented on a butcher-sheet, sauce on the side. The meat was soft and succulent, and as intensely flavored as A:Gent had dared hope.
Fette Sau isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for, and it isn't half bad when you consider the quality of the cuisine.
  Overall Experience
Take anyone but the veggie-people! This is a sleek, well-run Williamsburg hotspot, guaranteed to impress anyone from the seasoned meat aficionado to fun-loving clients. We'd particularly recommend going in a smaller group as the social atmosphere of Fette Sau will make you feel like you're part of a fun, large, meat-worshipping crowd...
